Finally tried the pizza everyone has been talking about. It was well worth the hour it took to make and cook. It did not disappoint. It was huge and loaded with all the toppings we wanted. This was the best pizza we have had!

If heaven has a smell, it probably smells like Shotgun BBQ.
We went all in on the $45 Deluxe Sampler because moderation is overrated, and with three of us it felt like a solid plan. That’s only $15 each, and it came with tea or water and a little of all their BBQ meats plus a few sides, basically a sampler of happiness. Let me tell you, it was the best decision since indoor plumbing. That might be the best $15 I’ve spent on food in Bay Minette, hands down.
Brisket? Tender perfection. Pulled pork? So good I briefly considered writing it a love song. My brother, who hasn’t stopped talking since he popped out in 1987, ate quietly, so take that as a sign of greatness. He declared the ribs real good, which in our family is basically a Michelin star.
What really makes Shotgun BBQ shine is the genuine hometown feel. It’s one of those places where you feel like everyone knows each other, but instead of judgment, they hand you sauce. We chatted with the owners, who were super approachable, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made the whole experience feel like dinner with neighbors. We left full, happy, and probably smelling faintly of smoked meat (not a complaint).
Overall, it was a fantastic meal and an even better experience in a town that’s been needing more options like this.
10 out of 10 would recommend! If you’re anywhere near Bay Minette and you don’t stop by, you’re doing life wrong. Bring an appetite and maybe stretchy pants, and thank me later. Your taste buds will be happy, and your diet might forgive you eventually.
Warning: you might leave rethinking your life, your diet, and your ability to ever enjoy chain BBQ again. 😅
